Mind dam

Nestled between mountains

What looks like a calm lake

Water glistens in the sunlight

Each water particle indistinguishable

From the other

Thoughts strung together

A dam wall below, cracking

Over the years of holding in

What was once a mighty river

I took a sledgehammer to that bland grey wall

One swing at a crack and stagnant water

Came rushing out

Another swing and another

Thought connected to

thought connected to thought connected

Yet racing to beat the other one out

Water glistens from the revived current

Relief from the pressure building
